Phoebe Gariepy grew up around climbers in Barre, Massachusettes, and started crushing at the young age of five. (Yeah Phoebe!) What keeps her climbing is the breaking of mental barriers; when there’s a tough climb she knows she can do physically, but not yet mentally.
Gariepy believes that the EVO community is great because it’s full of people making the facility a better place. She enjoys being a student, making jewelry out of stones and wire, yoga, hiking, dancing, and art. Her advice to the new climber? “Don’t be afraid to reach out! Almost every climber loves to teach and give beta.”
